Sun Protection

Skin can look older and wrinkled because of the damage UVA rays cause.

The damaging effects of UVA and UVB rays actually accumulate each year. There are about 160,000 new cases of skin cancer in Australia each year. However the problem is not confined to Australia, it is worldwide.

Australians and New Zealanders have the highest rate of skin cancer in the world with over 1,000 people dying each year as a direct result of skin cancer.

How can I protect my skin from the sun?

Avoid outdoor activities midday (11am – 2pm) when the sun is the highest. Always wear a sunscreen even on cloudy days UV radiation is harmful.

Apply sunscreen liberally and evenly over skin before exposure to the sun. Reapply often, especially after swimming, towelling dry or exercise.
